When: Sat., May 18, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. 2013
What is Zentangle? “It’s an easy-to-learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns.” It’s also a meditative process. Each piece you create becomes a little journey of its own. Learn to develop your creativity, relieve stress and change your perspective through this creative drawing process.
Join us on Saturday, May 18th from 10:00am to 1:00pm for a free demo presented by certified Zentangle instructors—Joan Payton and Jeannie Mahood as they take you on a guided journey into the peaceful, inspirational world of Zentangle.
Joan Payton has been creating most of her life....from making jewelry to now a fiber artist. She is a primitive rug hooker and has been in several rug hooking books with the latest, Hooked Rugs of the Deep South. She was a finalist in a show at the Museum of Folk Art, New York. She is a Zentangle teacher and became certified in 2009. She and Jeannie Mahood have taught over 400 students from Nova Scotia to Mexico. It is very exciting to see how Zentangle changes individual's lives from "I am not an artist...I can't draw" to "Wow, look what I can do"!
Jeannie Mahood has a background in art therapy and graphic design. Her artistic pursuits include photography, calligraphy, Zentangle® and mixed media. She also teaches Proverbial Doll workshops. She and Joan Payton became Certified Zentangle Teachers in 2009 and have taught over 400 students since! She loves to watch people discover (and re-discover) their innate creativity.
