A group of lions is called a "pride," but what do you call a group of Scrooges? A clutch of humbugs? A portfolio of skinflints? Of all the Scrooges that'll be walking Atlanta's stages over the next month, the Alpha miser will be Chris Kayser, in his fifth Ebenezer outing with the Alliance Theatre's A CHRISTMAS CAROL. Former Associate Artistic Director David H. Bell directs his own adaptation of the Charles Dickens work NOV. 21-DEC. 30 for the third and possibly final time. The lavish production is bound to have all the pageantry and music demanded by families in the mood for some holiday cheer. $18-$57. Tues.-Fri. 8 p.m.; Sat. 2:30 and 8 p.m.; Sun. 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Alliance Theatre, Woodruff Arts Center, 1280 Peachtree St. 404-733-5000. www.alliancetheatre.org. -- Curt Holman
