Atlanta photographer Sheila Pree Bright has been lauded in recent years for work exploring African-American stereotypes. In 2006, she earned the Santa Fe Prize for Photography and last year she was a key actor in the Atlanta Celebrates Photography series, and appeared on a CL cover. Her latest collection, YOUNG AMERICANS: PHOTOGRAPHS BY SHEILA PREE BRIGHT, explores the attitudes of young people toward their country with large-format photographs of subjects posed with flags. The exhibition, continuing Sun., MAY 4, at the High Museum, is part of the museum's ongoing series on the Civil Rights Movement.
