The Goner Fest 4 DVD dutifully documents Memphis, Tenn.'s annual garage-punk marathon from 2007 with clean, nonintrusive camera work, but after a while it all starts to look and sound the same. Carbonas' delivery of "Didn't Tell You a Lie" is Atlanta's strongest representation on the disc. Gentleman Jesse's delivery of "Going Out of My Mind," however, doesn't hold a match to his recent performances. Australia's Eddy Current Suppression Ring gives a particularly strong showing, and a double dose of Evil Army's crusty punk/speed-metal chops steal the show. Other highlights: Tokyo Electron, Quintron, Greg Cartwright and Jay Reatard. Noteworthy lows: Hank IV, Digital Leather and a parade of drunks babbling about how great it all is. Goner Fest 4 serves as great background music for parties and house cleaning, making you wish that you were there. Ditto on the bonus CD. 3 out of 5 stars.
