July 19 Saturday

True-school rockabilly is a cornerstone upon which the Star Bar in L5P is built, and the return of Charlotte's self-proclaimed "kings of greaser rock," the BELMONT PLAYBOYS, is long overdue. Also on the bill, Atlanta's long-standing rockabilly-roots ambassadors Blacktop Rockets take the stage to merge the accents of country, hillbilly, blues and R&B with a fiery Southern kerrang. Seven-piece old-timey and eccentric country strummers Ghostrider Car Club open the show. $10. 9 p.m. Star Bar, 437 Moreland Ave. 404-681-9018. (Chad Radford)
