This weekend the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra continues its monthlong holiday celebration with two Atlanta traditions. On Thurs., DEC. 14, THE CHRISTMAS STORY hits the stage. The ASO version, sans bratty kids, includes powerful renditions of Handel's Messiah and Vivaldi's Gloria. Between performances of these holiday classics, the Chelsea Tipton-led ASO Gospel Choir (right) rejoices with its GOSPEL CHRISTMAS concert Fri.-Sat., DEC. 15-16. Now, with nine days and counting until Christmas, all that's missing is "a partridge in a pear tree." The Christmas Story: $19-$59. Thurs., Sat., 8 p.m. Gospel Christmas: $12-$35. Fri., 8 p.m.; Sat., 2 p.m. Atlanta Symphony Hall, 1293 Peachtree St. 404-733-5000. www.woodruffcenter.org.
