Such esteemed actresses and rising starlets as Phylicia Rashad, Jasmine Guy, Shirley Knight and Kerry Washington speak for the women of New Orleans in True Colors Theatre Company's SWIMMING UPSTREAM, opening Wed., NOV. 5. Directed by artistic director Kenny Leon and developed with the Ashé Cultural Arts Center and Eve Ensler, playwright of The Vagina Monologues, Swimming Upstream recounts frightening, angry, but hopeful stories of women who weathered America's worst natural disaster in recent history.
