SUN/FEBRUARY 25
ANAPHORA JAZZ GROUP -- Part of 7 Stages' "Jazz Act Affairs" series combining jazz and theater, Anaphora Jazz performance includes the language of jazz from the instruments, mouths and bodies of those on stage. Anaphora Jazz's repertoire includes classic pieces by Ellington, Gershwin, Coltrane, Davis and Jobim. 7 Stages (Ware)

COWBOY ENVY -- For those who love the vintage sound of Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, the highlight of every month is the Sunday matinee performance of this cheerful, golden-voiced trio of local ladies. It's a sure bet they'll pay special tribute to Dale Evans (who recently rode off to the Last Roundup) today, so saddle up and join them. Eddie's Attic (Nicoll)

FLUTE CHOIR OF ATLANTA, ATLANTA MUSIC ACADEMY FLUTE CHOIR -- In this Super Bowl of local flute playing, the two local choirs agree to settle their bitter, often bloody, rivalry on the concert stage with this knock-down drag-out showdown. No, not really. The nice folks of these two local choirs combine to form a single 38-member ensemble, performing works by Handel, Verdi and others at this 4 p.m. free concert. For more information, call 770-751-1501. Agnes Scott College (Sarig)

THE GC5, TERMINUS CITY -- The Masquerade's "Punk Rock Sundays" get an injection of some punk/Oi! Irish-style jump-around hardcore noise with Cleveland's the GC5, who share the bill with Atlanta's hard working Terminus City. The Bloody Sods and the Moles also perform. Masquerade (Ware)

KEVIN LAWSON, JOHNNY IRION, MIKE MANTIONE, PAM HOWE -- This solo acoustic "Songwriters-in-the-Round" event showcases ruggedly handsome, lonesome rock star Kevin Lawson (ex-Three Lost Souls) along with his South Carolina-based equivalent, Johnny Irion (ex-Queen Sarah, ex-Dillon Fence). Playful tunesmith Mike Mantione of Athens rockers Five-Eight joins them this week, along with pH Balance's sultry songbird Pam Howe. Smith's Olde Bar (Nicoll)

MARDI GRAS CHARITY CONCERT -- See listing for Feb. 23. Huey's New Orleans Cafe (Ware)

SALUTE TO APOLLO JAZZ AND BLUES LEGENDS -- See Earshot. Center Stage (Powell)

DIANE SCHUUR -- Acclaimed vocalist Schuur performs at Project Open Hand's fundraiser. Primarily a jazz-singer, the blind-since-birth Schuur is equally at home with blues, country and, more unfortunately, pop. While eclectic, she sometimes bites off more than she can chew, and Stephen Bishop covers seem like slumming for a woman with a voice as malleable as Ella Fitzgerald's and powerful as Dinah Washington's. Given free reign live, Schuur may provide the show-stopping vocal fireworks of which she is clearly capable. Tickets for this benefit start at $350 a pair. To make reservations, call 404-872-8089. Project Open Hand (Horowitz)

SUNDAY SIPPIN' PARLOR -- The latest installment of the Sunday Sippin' Parlor features a matinee open mic followed by singer/songwriters-in-the-round including Joel Burkhardt of Bully, Shannon Tanner of Heritage Cherry, Drew Deman of No River City and CL contributor Slim Chance of the Convicts and White Lightin'.
