BORROMEO STRING QUARTET, GARY GRAFFMAN -- Spivey Hall celebrates its 10th anniversary with the music of Mozart, Brahms, Beethoven and Korngold performed on violin, viola, cello and piano. Spivey Hall (Ware)

JACK WEST -- See listing for Jan. 19. Jack West plays an afternoon set during the Earl's Dunch. The Earl (Sarig)

KING JOHNSON -- The former blues band has branched out a bit with its newest album, Luck So Strange. Now they seem to blend some New Orleans-style funk, gritty jazz and traditional blues into the pot with their refried boogie. Not quite a jam band, but veering into that territory at times. Here's hopin' they keep both hands on the wheel. Smith's Olde Bar (Smith)

PATTY LARKIN -- See review. Red Light Café (Horowitz)

THAMYRIS, ATLANTA PERCUSSION TRIO -- See Earshot. Performing Arts Studio/Emory University (Brown)

2001 -- A BEETHOVEN ODYSSEY -- See article. Rich Auditorium/Woodruff Arts Center (Brown)

GEORGE WINSTON -- Winston's early '80s seasonal trilogy for Windham Hill put him on the map artistically and unleashed an era of New Age artists. However, unlike many of his successors, Winston's work is lacking neither in musical tension or emotional weight. More interpreter than composer, his recordings acknowledge a debt to Vince Guaraldi, James Booker, Fats Waller and Teddy Wilson. His recent release, Plains, covers Chet Atkins, Sarah McLachlan and traditional Hawaiian pieces. Turn off that cell phone, watch alarm, etc., sit back, exhale. Robert Ferst Center (Powell)
