SINBAD is one of the few comedians who can do clean comedy without sounding corny. The big man who used to rock a parrot's feather as an earring has starred in such films as House Guest and served as a longtime host of "Showtime at the Apollo," but he truly shines as a stand-up comedian, somehow making family-oriented PG material cool. $37.50. 8 p.m. Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway. 770-916-2800. (Noah Gardenswartz)

It's no mystery why Wordsmiths Books is hosting a book launch for Georgia's own musical mystery author DAVID FULMER. The 2006 Georgia author of the year's sonorous stories include the jazz-driven Storyville and blues-centered The Dying Crapshooter's Blues. Tonight's event celebrates his most recent novel, The Blue Door, which rocks 'n' rolls through a 1960s Philadelphia underworld. See Arts, p. 39, for more. Free. 7:30 p.m. 141 E. Trinity Place, Decatur. 404-378-7166. (Abi Berwager)

If all those New Year's Eve bubbles left you feeling particularly bubblicious, don't fret – the party continues tonight at the TOUR DE CHAMPAGNE. The celebration at downtown's Ritz-Carlton features more than 20 brands of Champagne, as well as food from Joël, Shaun's and others, and a silent auction benefiting Angel Flight of Georgia. VIP ticket holders receive access to the fin de soiree, which includes a cognac tasting and dessert, as well as more, um, Champagne. $110-$150. 7-10 p.m. 181 Peachtree St. 404-659-0400. (Besha Rodell)
