DECEMBER 14 THURSDAY

Once dismissed as the one-hit wonder behind the synth-pop chestnut "She Blinded Me with Science," THOMAS DOLBY now draws respect as a pioneer of ring-tone technology. His '80s albums, particularly The Golden Age of Wireless, are also enjoying a critical revival. Since electronics have become a widely accepted aspect of popular music, Dolby's career is coming into focus and his revival tour, begun last year, is drawing more plaudits than snickers. Well-regarded trance musician BRIAN "BT" TRANSEAU co-headlines in a "Sonic Duel for Virtual Supremacy." $21.50-$24. 9 p.m. Center Stage, 1374 W. Peachtree St. 404-885-1365. www.earthlinklive.com.
