The gritty stomp of Scott H. Biram’s tunes recalls classic country blues, but also weirder fringe stuff like Hasil Adkins’ off-the-wall idiosyncrasy, boasting a healthy Texan balance between bluesy moans and country twangs. And like all things Texas, Austin’s Biram engages in a bit of good-natured aggrandizement and self-mythologizing. His 2011 release, Bad Ingredients, was Biram’s most varied release yet, dipping into smokehouse R&B and psychedelic rock. Expect tunes from the upcoming album, Nothin’ But Blood, when he comes to town Mon., Oct. 7.
