Arts Festivals
At the DOG DAYS FOLK ART FESTIVAL, you can catch Danny the Bucket Man who blowtorches buckets into animal shapes. If you don't like that, there will be more than 70 other folk artists on hand JULY 21 to peddle their wares. Sponsored by the Primitive Eye Gallery, the fourth annual event has seen record crowds interested in the distinctive carvings, paintings and objects created by established and emerging folk artists. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Old Scottdale Mill Village, 3256 E. Ponce de Leon. Free. 404-298-0303.

Music
You don't have to be guzzling Bud to enjoy the bands at the fifth annual BEER OLYMPICS at the Masquerade Music Park JULY 21-22, but it won't hurt. The two-day, all-ages concert features veteran punk bands as well as rising stars and local acts. The doors open at 2 p.m. for a group that includes Condemned 84, Anti-Heros, Agnostic Front, Ducky Boys, the Templars, Iron Cross, Patriot, Oxymoron and more. Tickets are $15 per day or $25 for a weekend pass. 695 North Ave. 404-577-8178.

YULE LOG'S CHRISTMAS-IN-JULY PARTY -- Ten-foot-tall madman Jim Stacy transforms himself into Shitty Claus for a rare off-season appearance. He'll perform raunchy punk rock renditions of Yuletide favorites, with more than a little help from the kindly old elves of Truckadelic. Athens-based high-speed popsters Hayride also are on the bill, though they'll probably re-name themselves Sleighride for the night. Star Bar (Nicoll)
