Acid colors drawn from cartoons and the buy-buy-buy world of product packaging define artist MICHAEL THRUSH's painterly world. Thrush's Beyond Reason, a show of action-packed paintings (right) at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, is ultra pop culture, full of madly battling comic-book action heroes and cereal mascots. With Tony the Tiger, Cap'n Crunch and Toucan Sam attacking kiddie teeth with their sugary malfeasance, he makes the '60s pop artists look like hermetic, out-of-touch shut-ins. Through DEC. 15. Free. Mon.-Fri., 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sat., 10 a.m.-3 p.m. 980 Briarcliff Road. 404-872-5338. www.callanwolde.org.
