To commemorate the historic event -- the budget is $800 million over last year's -- the party released, "Pass the Pork: The Top Ten Most Outrageous Spending Measures in the Georgia General Assembly Midyear Budget." It includes:
$2.2 million for an industrial development project in House Speaker Tom Murphy's home county of Haralson.
$150,000 for a NASCAR Hall of Fame in Dawsonville.
$500,000 to expand the Gordonia-Altamaha golf course.
$50,000 for the preservation of the first brick house in Jonesboro.
$40,000 to promote the movie making and recording industry in Macon.
$4.1 million to build a new state park in House Democratic Leader Larry Walker's home county of Houston.
$64,000 to purchase a rail car for the Tifton Terminal Railway Museum.
$250,000 to construct and operate a public fishing area in Burke County.
$1 million to build an amphitheater at the Mable House culture activities center in Gov. Roy Barnes' hometown of Mableton.
$25,000 for planting flowers in Augusta/Richmond County.
