When: Sat., Sept. 7, 9 p.m. 2013
Born from the ashes of proto-punk band Rocket From the Tombs, Cleveland, Ohio, avant-garde punk band Pere Ubu has spent almost four decades creating neurotically paranoid tunes. Helmed by songwriter/vocalist David Thomas, the band’s catalog has pushed the boundaries of punk, new wave, post-punk, and outsider music, most notably including landmark LPs The Modern Dance and Dub Housing, both released in 1978. Pere Ubu visits Atlanta on Sat., Sept. 7 supporting Lady from Shanghai, the group’s 14th LP. With Gagarian.
