Swedish poseurs the Hives may be the big-money name on the marquee, but the real reason to head over to Center Stage Thurs., MAY 15, is to catch JACK-O & THE TENNESSEE TEARJERKERS. The Memphis-based garage-rock night prowlers play rough and ramshackle rock 'n' roll fuzz, drum and organ tunes that dwell on the seedy side. Lo-fi and raunchy jams are a lifestyle choice for Jack Oblivion's crew, and his cool croon recalls the nasally yelps of Bob Dylan, and the cool street hassle and strut of Lou Reed while setting all new standards of dark, dank and dirty blues. $18-$20. 8 p.m. Center Stage, 1374 W. Peachtree St. 404-885-1365. www.centerstage-atlanta.com.
