Experience the story of the ultimate adventure traveler, Marco Polo, and relive his epic excursion along the Silk Road. Twenty-four years and thousands of miles later, it became a journey that can best be described as "the ultimate road trip.” Making its North American premiere at Fernbank Museum, Marco Polo: Man & Myth features more than 80 objects including coins, ceramics, artwork, maps and more. From Marco Polo’s homeland in Venice to his final destination in China, the exhibition reveals the many cultural influences and customs he observed, highlights the impact of exchanging ideas along the Silk Road, and sheds light on his encounters inside the Mongol Empire, including the Court of Kublai Khan.
