Who says you never see anything new at the theater during the holidays? Atlanta playwright Patrick Cuccaro debuts an offbeat musical, THE THIRD HOWL (right), at Theatre Decatur NOV. 16. The Third Howl provides an unusual perspective on the spirit of giving by focusing on the points of view of three dogs (Mark Feldman, Jacob Wood and Zach Solomon) and a cat (Jennifer Hendrickson). And while it may sound intriguing, don't expect any other talking animals like reindeer or nativity-scene escapees. Through Dec. 17. $20-$24. Thurs.-Sat., 8 p.m.; Sun., 2 p.m. 430 W. Trinity Place, Decatur. 404-373-5311. www.theatredecatur.com.
