Wed., Dec. 31

Thirty artists across the country, led by New York-based choreographer Miguel Gutierrez, will perform in sync for FREEDOM OF INFORMATION 2008, a 24-hour performance/protest/ritual. Several Dancers Core co-presents with artist Diana Crum for Georgia's contribution to the national effort. Intended as an act of solidarity with those displaced by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the blindfolded and earplugged artists must improvise movement throughout a single room to symbolize constant motion due to the daily threat of violence. While the elusive performance begins at midnight Wed., DEC. 31, there will only be select hours open to the public. If you can't make the one of the two public viewing time frames, channel your inner Peeping Tom and take a peek through the studio windows. Free. Confirmed public hours: Dec. 31, 8-10 a.m., 1:30-3:30 p.m. Several Dancers Core, 519 N. McDonough St., Decatur. 404-373-4154. www.miguelgutierrez.org.
