With multiple Starbucks popping up next to Chinese fish markets and Jackie Chan kicking ass in Western flicks, Chinese and American cultures are intertwining in more than a few ways. Atlanta Chinese Dance Company's WEST TO EAST, EAST TO WEST examines the impact of these two cultures in the world of arts and entertainment. This two-part performance conveys the influence of ballet and modern dance on Chinese ballet and traditional dance, and also examines Chinese history and culture depicted in popular U.S. television shows, films, operas and museum exhibits. Professional guest artists include performers from the Atlanta Ballet and New York-based companies H.T. Chen & Dancers and Dance China NY, as well as original choreography by director Hwee-Eng Y. Lee. $10-$20. Sun., 7:30 p.m.; Mon., 2 p.m. Performing Arts Center at Gwinnett Center, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth. 770-813-7600. www.atlantachinesedance.org.
