Theater Emory's SLAPPING BERNARD, opening Thurs., NOV. 8, presents a tale of World War II intrigue in shadowy film-noir style. The French resistance enlists a film crew in a plot to assassinate the Nazi SS' second in command. Writer/director John Ammerman previously explored the silent-play format in 2004's clever comedy Life Goes On: A Silent Play in Black and White. Through Nov. 18. $18. Wed.-Sat., 7 p.m.; Sun., 2 p.m. Emory University, Dobbs University Center, Mary Gray Munroe Theater, 605 Asbury Circle. 404-727-5050. www.theater.emory.edu.
