Rather than simply razing Atlanta's most historic structures to make room for cookie-cutter condo buildings, some creative developers had a better idea: REUSE THEM. Consider the planned second lives of some of our coolest buildings. The Wrecking Bar on Moreland Avenue is set to become a brewpub and events space. Lakewood Fairgrounds will be renovated into a state-of-the-art TV soundstage and movie production complex. And the red brick former factory known as the Goat Farm on the Westside is flourishing as an artists' community — joining such re-adaptive success stories as Studioplex and White Provision. Now, if someone would just rehab the Clermont Hotel, we'd really be on a roll.
