Call him Ayo, Ayodele or even his real name, Marvin Heath, but don't call him lazy. Arguably the hardest-working man in Atlanta poetry, Ayo presides over the monthly Slam City spoken word nights at Paradigm ArtSpace. He also took a team to the National Poetry Slam in Seattle last month, placing in the semi-finals. Atlanta's other team, from MoorEpics Poetry, made its premiere appearance at the competition thanks partly to Ayo's efforts. A mainstay of the local poetry scene for several years, this dedicated wordsmith woos audiences with his craft, his charm and his contagious enthusiasm for the form.
