On the first Thursday of each month from 7-10 p.m., local designers and artisans converge at Grant Parks Young Blood Gallery for Kraftwork, a night dedicated to selling the products of local crafters. Indie kids, neighborhood enthusiasts and friends of the artists sip cheap wine and PBRs as they peruse the handmade wares and chat with the creative entrepreneurs. Screen-printed tees, fingerless gloves, fabric pins, deconstructed skirts and crochet hats are just a sample of what is available each month. Look for great prices and dont be afraid to bargain (and even barter), especially toward the end of the evening when vendors are more likely to give you a deal.
