Best Person You Hate to Love

Nobody turns lemons into Hennessy like Atlanta-born rapper and actor T.I.. Last October, T.I., the convicted felon, attempted to purchase illegal machine guns and silencers in a Midtown Walgreens parking lot. And a crime that could land you 10 years in prison (T.I. got a sentence of a year of community service, followed by a year behind bars) instead earned our native son a revamped image. A judge placed him under house arrest as a condition of his $3 million bond – ample time to let the Grammy winner polish his oratory skills and schedule a speaking tour. He also posted videos on the Internet in which he advised youngsters to go straight before calling himself “the King” and lighting up a cigar. Throughout the unfortunate drama, the rags-to-riches rapper has somehow remained immensely likable.
