Evander Kane

Staff Pick

Having recently celebrated his 19th birthday, EVANDER KANE's name probably doesn't ring any bells for most Atlantans — or maybe it's just because he plays hockey. The Atlanta Thrashers left wing played 66 games last season as an 18-year-old rookie, scoring 14 goals and notching 12 assists. Not too shabby for a kid who could barely buy a pack of smokes. Combine Kane with defenseman Zach Bogosian, 20, and the Thrashers have two young superstars in the making, which should make Atlanta fans forget all about that Kovalchuk guy — well, maybe not quite. While the Thrashers failed to make the playoffs for the ninth time in the franchise's 10-year history, Kane is a definite bright spot in the organization's future.
