She's a lady DJ who isn't afraid to sweat her perm out. And that ain't the half. Since graduating from Scratch DJ Academy two years ago, former Georgia State University Music Management major Martina McFlyy has become a choice party rocker among local tastemakers, promoters and cool kids. When she's not club-hopping from Tel Aviv to Berlin and back, her list of Atlanta residences runs the gamut from the upscale (Halo Lounge, W Hotel, Aurum Lounge) to the underground (MJQ, El Bar, East Side Lounge). Her mixtape and live sets are just as varied: Marvin Gaye to Mark Ronson, Steve Aoki to Jeezy, Beyoncé to MSTRKRFT. But it's more than her upbeat playlist that gives club-goers permission to form girl-girl-boy sandwiches on the dance floor. There's something disarming about watching the flyest female in the room wild out. And when McFlyy abandons the DJ booth midset to get her groove on, not a single wallflower is left standing in her wake. martinamcflyy.com.
