(404) 872-3100 OK, OK.We admit the obvious: One newspaper has most of Atlanta's great columnists, and it ain't the Urinal-Constipation. But, hey, we're far too modest to boast here about folks like Andisheh, Cliff, Hollis, Luke, Jane, Richard and Tina. So, we'll just recognize someone from another publication: Nobody deserves that recognition as much as Doug Monroe. Since he began mouthing off earlier this year for Atlanta Magazine, Monroe has established himself as the cranky uncle who's unafraid to take the city's collective skeletons out of the closet and rattle 'em. Among his favorite targets is the AJC, where he once was a columnist and an editor. But Monroe doesn't just bring heat to paper. A lifelong Atlanta resident (except for his stint at UGA), Monroe understands the fabric of the city; between columns with hard edges, he sheds light on our past, as well as his dreams for the future.
