Your Dekalb Farmers Market

Staff Pick

The setting, inside a no-frills alcove next to the freezer section, is less than ideal. But people don't come to the cafeteria at YOUR DEKALB FARMERS MARKET for the ambiance. They come for the grub. Nowhere else in Atlanta can you fill yourself up with sweet spicy lentils, tangy rosemary-roasted mushrooms, juicy Parmesan-toasted fresh squash, a grouper fillet, baked beets in ginger syrup, and creamy baked mac-n-cheese, while paying less than $4. For $1.25 extra, you can have one of the restaurant's legendary samosas. Stuffed with beef, lamb, vegetables or lentils, they're a meal by themselves. The same plate of food, served on china in a prettier setting, would cost 20 bucks.
