This tiny cafe on Piedmont near Cheshire Bridge is serving the city's best gumbo these days. Although purists object to the combination of seafood with meats in one of the gumbos, we love the stuff, served in a big au lait cup. It's rich with file, smoky and slightly stinging. There's also good crawfish etouffee, jambalaya, po' boys and bread pudding. Owner Karen Hudson loves your feedback and will wring her hands by your table while you critique every mouthful.
