Ann's Snack Bar

Dining Description:  Named best burger in the COUNTRY by the Wall Street Journal, it's hard to get a seat at Ann's. The favorite here remains a double cheeseburger with mayo only; it's under $5 and would fill a Great Dane. The Ghetto Burger is a masochistic order: a plate-filling sandwich topped with chili, cheese, onions and bacon. Whatever you order, don't plan to move around much the rest of the day.

All the rules at this restaurant are what make people go gaga about it. The food itself: awful! I sat at the counter on the end with a clear view of the refrigerator. The meat and cheese are directly out of Kroger. The cheese in fact is the cheapest American pre-sliced sold. Ann is a super slow and in fact terrible cook. I think her "rules" come from the fact that she knows she can't cook fast and made them to give her time.

Be ready to act like you have some hometraining when you step through the doors of Ann's. Its not just the burgers you should try, she has a variety of fun foods to endulge in. If you can get a seat consider yourself blessed by the food gods because it is an experience any ATL resident should have. The food is awesome no matter what you order or when you go oooh its so GOOD and VERY FILLING!! Oh btw...she will give you mean looks if you blunder over words so have your ish together and speak loud when its your turn!
